Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Sunday Through Tuesday

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM SUNDAY TO 4 AM TUESDAY.

WHAT: Snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches expected. Localized higher amounts are possible. Snowfall rates of up to half an inch and hour are possible at times.

WHERE: Southern Oregon Cascades and eastern Douglas County foothills, including Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake Junction, and portions of Highways 140, 62, 138, and 230 over the Cascades. Central Douglas County-Eastern Douglas County Foothills-Jackson County-South Central Oregon Cascades-Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.

IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult due to slick, snow covered roads. Periods of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibilities at times. This will be a longer duration event, with snow expected to occur through Tuesday. This Advisory represents the highest confidence locations for impactful snowfall over the next 48 hours. Updates and extensions are likely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:

Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties.
