The Oregon Army National Guard held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for their new facility in Medford, located at 1251 East McAndrews Road, Suite 112, on Feb. 17, 2022.
“As a former member of the Oregon National Guard, this new recruiting center plays an important role in the community,” said Randy Sparacino, Mayor of Medford. Sparacino served in the Oregon Army National Guard as part of the 186th Infantry Regiment in Southern Oregon.
Representatives from the city of Chamber of Commerce along with Mayor Randy Sparacino helping highlight the important role the Oregon Army National Guard maintains in Southern Oregon. Most recently during the COVID-19 surge, Guardsmen from the area have been supporting the Oregon Health Authority at hospitals in the Medford area. They also support Wildland Firefighting operations and other domestic tasks around the region.
