On January 26, 2022, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office received information from California of a missing 4-year-old child that was possibly in the area.
Details revealed that the father of the child, 30 year old Jonathan Rios, had taken the child out of state and was refusing to return the child to the custodial mother. Deputies and Detectives with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office worked together to locate a possible address for Rios, in the 5000 block of Cloverlawn Drive.
Rios was later seen leaving the residence on Cloverlawn Drive and was arrested without incident on Beacon Drive near the Grants Pass Parkway.
The child in question was located and arrangements were made for the custodial mother to regain physical custody
Jonathan Rios was arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail for Kidnapping, and later transported back to California for the crimes involved.
