The Rogue Valley International Medford Airport (MFR) saw another month of strong passenger travel.

For the month of November, the regional airport saw a total of 81,784 travelers pass through its gates.
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport saw dramatic losses of passengers flying. Only 45,824 passengers flew in November 2020. Down from the all time monthly high set in 2019, which was 87,950 passengers.
The airport also continues to add more routes and airlines. Direct Medford to Reno flights began to fly at the end of October, courtesy of newcomer aha! Air. While another new startup, Avelo, continues to see success flying direct routes from Medford to Burbank using Boeing 737’s.
As MFR continues to see passenger growth, plans are in the earlier stages of an upgraded master plan to expand the terminal, ramps, and add a second runway.
Two new hotels are on the horizon near the airport as well. A new 132 key, four-floor Marriott has topped out at the nearby Navigators Landing. While a new Hilton branded extended stay hotel is planned for within walking distance of the main terminal.
Plans for another two hotels have been submitted to the city of Medford as well. The two separate hotels would have a combined 193 rooms. The site will be just up Bullock from MFR. Here is a link to our story about the plans.
