OSP Seeking Public Assistance in Jacksonville Poaching Case

On November 20, 2021, at approximately 9:30a, Fish & Wildlife Trooper responded to Pair-A-Dice Ranch Rd in Jacksonville, on a report of a poached buck.

The Trooper located the buck, which had appeared to have fallen a considerable distance from a ridge, before crossing the road leaving a large blood trail. The Trooper located an access point and hiked to the location where the buck had fallen. There was a quarter-mile blood trail before the ridge that appears to have begun in perfect view of the roadway and where a vehicle made a sudden stop angling toward the buck. No bullet or casings were located. The buck had a large mortal wound on its right side.
