Multiple Agencies and Helicopter Assist in Serious Crash on I5

Yesterday, crews from Jackson County Fire District 5 (JCFD5), Ashland Fire Rescue (AFR), Cal Fire- Siskiyou Unit, Mercy Flights Inc (MFI), Oregon State Police (OSP) and Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), responded to a serious motor vehicle accident at milepost 1 of Interstate 5.

Due to heavy damage to the vehicle, crews removed the roof to gain access to the two occupants.

One patient was transported by Mercy Flights helicopter and a second by Ashland Fire & Rescue ground ambulance to Medford area hospitals.

Officials say the crash is under investigation and there are no patient updates at this time.
