RCC to Host Drop-In Four Year College Forum

Representatives from four-year colleges and universities across Oregon will visit Rogue Community College (RCC) campuses in Medford and Grants Pass later this month to showcase what their schools have to offer.

Interested individuals, families and RCC students considering transferring to a four-year school are invited to stop by these drop-in events to be held Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Higher Education Center in Room 129 at the Riverside Campus, 101 S. Bartlett Street, Medford and Thursday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Student Center Commons at the Redwood Campus, 3345 Redwood Highway, Grants Pass.

The southern Oregon forums at RCC are part of the annual Oregon Transfer Fair, where community college students prepare for the next step in their academic careers without the cost of travel.

The visiting college representatives will provide information about their school’s academic programs, admissions requirements, courses, college costs and financial aid, and tools to make a student’s transition as seamless as possible.

Schools that plan to attend both event dates include: Bushnell University; Eastern Oregon University; Grand Canyon University; Oregon Institute of Technology; Oregon State University; Pacific University; Portland State University; Roseman University College of Nursing, Henderson, NV; University of Idaho; University of Oregon; University of Portland; Western Oregon University (WOU); and WOU Division of Business & Economics. Western Governors University of Salt Lake City will join the other participants at the Medford event and Southern Oregon University will join those attending the Grants Pass event.

Oregon Transfer Days was launched in 2007 as a statewide outreach tour bringing Oregon’s four-year colleges and universities to the state’s 17 community colleges. This effort gives students a chance to get to know their academic options before they transfer as well as gain an advantage in achieving their success.
