Medford Area Cell Phones Receive Amber Alert

An Oregon statewide Amber Alert has been issued with the following information:

2011, Black, Honda, Civic (No License Plate). Taken from SE 49th Ave/SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR on 09-18-2022 06:52 PM.

If seen or have information call 911 or 1-866-5AMBER5

In order for an Amber Alert to be activated, the following takes place prior to the alert being sent.

  • Law enforcement officials confirm a child has been abducted; and
  • The child is 17 years or younger; and
  • Law enforcement officials believe that the child is in imminent danger of serious bodily harm or death; and
  • There is adequate descriptive information available to believe that its dissemination to the public could help locate the child, suspect, and/or suspect’s vehicle; and
  • The child’s name and other critical data elements – including the child abduction (CA) and AMBER Alert (AA) flags must be entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system.

UPDATE: The Amber Alert was issued after a vehicle was stolen in Portland with a young girl inside.

FINAL UPDATE: The missing Oregon child has been located safe and sound. Officials say she was found inside of the stolen vehicle and will be reunited with her family shortly.
