Propane Leak Shuts Down Major Central Point Corridor

This is a developing incident, Medford Alert will continue to monitor and update as more information becomes available.

1:55p UPDATE: ODOT has reopened Exit 33.

1:45p UPDATE: Central Point Police have reopened the affected streets.

12p UPDATE: Heavy congestion between I5 Exit 33 and Exit 30. Westbound OR62 also seeing heavy traffic due to impact from propane leak near I5 Exit 33. Use caution and factor in more time if driving in that area.

11:40a UPDATE: In Central Point, the southbound Exit 33 southbound off-ramp is closed due to a propane leak at a nearby gas station. Central Point traffic use either Exit 35 or 30. Rogue Valley traffic should avoid the west interchange area at Pine and Freeman Road. This could be a long term closure. Fire and emergency crews are on scene

Pine St. is currently closed to all traffic in both directions between 10th St. & Interstate 5 due to a propane tank leak at a gas station.

Officials say the traffic shut down is expected to take around two hours but could be longer.

Central Point Police say to avoid the area until the issue is resolved.
