Oregon Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash on OR20E

On Friday, April 22, 2022, at about 3:15 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20E near Gosney Road in Central Oregon.

Preliminary investigation determined that a red Toyota pickup, operated by Aaron Bagnall (34) of Salem, was traveling eastbound on Highway 20E. Bagnall lost control of his vehicle, slid sideways and crossed into the westbound lane. The Toyota pickup was struck on the passenger side by a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup, operated by Miguel Martinez (34) of Prineville. Roadway conditions at the time of the crash were hail and slush.

Bagnall sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Martinez sustained minor injuries and declined medical transport. 

Highway 20E was closed for approximately 5 hours. 

OSP was assisted at the scene by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Bend Fire & Rescue and Oregon Department of Transportation.
