Full Arrest Details of Wanted Medford Fugitive Released

On 3/14/22 at about 10:21pm, a Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Sergeant was on patrol in the area of Hatchery Lane and South Old Stage Rd in Mt Shasta. He observed a Jeep Cherokee with an Oregon license plate being driven by a male subject who was later identified as 33 year-old Anthony Ross Minneci out of Medford, traveling on South Old Stage Rd. The SCSO Sergeant observed the Jeep veer off of the roadway and drive onto the dirt shoulder and into some brush.

When the SCSO Sergeant attempted to initiate a traffic stop the Jeep rapidly accelerated leading to a pursuit. The pursuit continued through the unincorporated area of Mt Shasta where the Jeep reached speeds up to 90mph. During the pursuit another responding SCSO Deputy had to make evasive maneuvers to avoid being struck by the Jeep. The Jeep entered Mt Shasta city limits and eventually came to a stop in the area of the Mt Shasta City Park. After the Jeep stopped Minneci exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Minneci was eventually safely apprehended with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

During the course of the investigation it was determined that Minneci had three felony warrants and was on parole out of Oregon. It was also determined the Jeep was a reported stolen vehicle out of Oregon. During a search of the vehicle incident to arrest the Deputies located several hundred M30 fentanyl pills, 4.4 grams of fentanyl powder, 97.58 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 108.4 grams of suspected heroin, 19 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana, two loaded firearms, numerous rounds of ammunition and over $12,500 in cash.

Minneci was arrested and transported to the Siskiyou County Jail where he was booked and lodged for several felonies that included auto theft, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance while being armed with a loaded firearm, possession of narcotics for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, as well as his felony warrants. Minneci was also booked for misdemeanors that included tampering with a serial number on a firearm, reckless driving, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
