Several crashes and spin-outs have affected traffic flow this afternoon.
Southbound crashes are clear, one involving two downed motorcycles. Those are being cleared and traffic reopened.
Northbound is also tied-up and traffic being held at the Exit 1 chain-checkpoint, but is expected to be lifted soon.
Officials remind drivers that if traffic is stalled, plows can’t clear the roadway. Always skow down and drive to the conditions.
Drivers are advised to stay on Interstate 5 and not take the old highway, which is only open to local traffic.
