If you see smoke near Roxy Ann today, it’s supposed to be there, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry.
A prescribed burn is taking place approximately four miles northeast of Medford and is affecting 15 acres in Prescott park near Roxy Ann peak.
ODF crews will be working the following two weeks around the Roxy Ann area to help reduce the risk of wildfire in the park.
They’ll be actively monitoring the piles throughout the week.
ODF wants the public to be aware that trails near the peak may be closed at times for safety reasons.
