HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM MONDAY TO 4 AM PST TUESDAY…

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM MONDAY TO 4 AM PST TUESDAY…

* WHAT…For the High Wind Warning, southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the Wind Advisory, southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE…Jackson County. For the High Wind Warning, areas along Interstate 5 from south Medford to Ashland. For the Wind Advisory, the rest of Interstate 5 south of Gold Hill, Crater Lake Highway and Highway 140 near White City and south of Butte Falls.

* WHEN…From 1 PM Monday to 4 AM PST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Wind this strong can blow down trees and power lines resulting in power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
