Threat of Violence Prompts Extra Police Presence at a Metro Area High School

North Medford High School will see an increase of marked and unmarked police vehicles around campus today as a social media threat, between students, has caused officials to beef up security today.

Here is the letter that the school sent to families.

I’m writing tonight to inform you of a situation involving a threat of violence between students on social media.

The student who allegedly made the threat has been suspended from school for a prior incident and is not currently allowed on campus.

Medford police are aware and investigating, and there will be increased police presence on campus today for the safety of students and staff.

The safety of your students is a top priority. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
